On a hot Summer's evening in June, in London's West End, at The Royal Society of Medicine, 250 people crammed into a room to hear about a new charity Hospice Ukraine, and the funds that are desperately needed to help people at the end of their lives in war torn Ukraine. Dr Rachel Clarke and Henry Marsh in the UK, along with Dr Andrii Myzak in Ukraine, launched their new charity with a massive fundraising event. TV presenters Jon Sopel and Emily Maitlis generously gave of their time to host the event, with special guests Dr Adam Kay, Dr David Nott and Vadim (all female Ukrainian a cappella choir) adding to the occasion.
After a slap up meal, a special fundraising auction with some incredible prizes was hosted by Rachel, with an astonishing £60,285.53 raised in total. We are extremely grateful to all those who came, donated, bid for prizes, and we are reassured that they all had a thoroughly great time.
Until the next event!
