In December 2024, just before Christmas, the charity’s co-founders Dr Rachel Clarke and Henry Marsh, made a very exciting visit to Lviv, to deliver an enormous Christmas present - a shiny new Land Rover Discovery - to a hospice we support. This was only possible thanks to our supporters extraordinarily generous donations, plus the incredible support of Land Rover Europe and WinnerImports Ukraine Ltd, who very generously enabled us to purchase the vehicle at cost price.

Sambir Hospice sits in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains and cares for patients at the end of their lives, both as inpatients and in their own homes. But the hospice team is unable to reach patients high up in the mountains - it’s just too difficult to travel there on broken, potholed roads. Now, with the Hospice Ukraine Land Rover, the team will be able to reach far into the rural landscape, to deliver the medical care, medicines and comfort these patients truly deserve. Without this access they would continue to suffer on their own.
Without our donors support we can't help the people of Ukraine to receive the comfort, dignity and care they deserve at the end of their lives. Having this Land Rover Discovery means the hospice team can reach people in desperate need high up in the mountains. We and they are eternally grateful.
